To be honest, Islam is totally against the whole context of Taj Mahal, It is a waste of money, a monument of mourning etc. The only reason people are still bearing it is, it generates a lot of money in terms of tourism. Thanks for letting me aware of your views in this regard! The point which I wished to emphasize was that such monuments in India have been given undue importance.
Their importance got exaggerated! Very correct. People forget that the labourers who constructed it lost their hands.
Mumtaz was his fourth wife. Taj Mahal was built by destroying Shiv Temple. We have been made to read false history and all because of so called secularism defined by Nehru and Gandhi. Thanks for adding new facts…There is urgent need to have likes of PN Oak who dared to challenge the facts mentioned in the History written by the conquerors or by the flatterers of the conquerors….
Sometimes we need to look beyond the popular perceptions.. I am just trying to do that in a genuine way!! We were students of philosophy, English and Ancient History.. The ex-Maharaja of Jaipur still retains in his secret collection two orders from Shah Jahan for surrendering the Taj building. Using captured temples and mansions, as a burial place for dead courtiers and royalty was a common practice among Muslim rulers.
And now, a new controversy surrounds this edifice, as the Central Information Commission has directed the Ministry of Culture to clarify its stand on whether the Taj Mahal is a mausoleum built by Shah Jahan or a Shiva temple gifted to the Mughal Emperor by a Rajput king.
Information Commissioner, Sridhar Acharyulu, in his recent order asked the Ministry to rest the controversy and clarify doubts about the history of the white-marbled mausoleum. The state government also allocated an equal amount for developing the infrastructure facilities in these Hindu holy pilgrim centres. But, the Taj Mahal was conspicuously absent in this mega heritage revival!
Worst still, the contribution of the Mughals is systematically diluted to suit the politics of majoritarianism. He added that the construction of the statue would be "a good step as Ayodhya is centre of Hindu heritage. What kind of history? What place's history? Whose history?
The history that the man who built the Taj Mahal imprisoned his father? The history that he wanted to wipe out the Hindus from all of Uttar Pradesh and India? That is just so wrong it doesn't mean you blame the whole race just cause of some people. Shivani Dear, Yes you are correct.
There are people who claim themselves as muslims and born in a muslim family too. Much Love! Everyone is missing a most important point how shahjahan tortured the workers labours for as long as 22 years. For me Taj mahal is symbol of a ego of a man and a symbol of torture labourers.
And please don't blame the entire religion on basis of individual maniacs cause that's not right. Most of the religion has had their own share of inflecting violence. Everyone in this world adore about the beauty of the Tajmahal, so called the symbol of eternal love. I have disagreement with you all if you say Tajmahal, symbol of love.
Definitely, No can beat Shah Jahan for his creativity, out of the world thinking, etc which resulted with the flow of amazing architecture. Why I hate Tajmahal depicting as the love symbol? We all know that Tajmahal is built in the memory of the beautiful lady Mumtaz. The king Shah Jahan who could not tolerate the death of his wife spent 22 years to construct the beautiful monument. Everyone says it depicts how much love Shah Jahan had on Mumtaz even after her death?
Is it really the love he carried? Know these facts and you would be surprised rather, schocked.. Mumtaz is not the first or only wife of Shah Jahan, rather one of his dozens of wives. She is married to another guy and was leading a very happy and pleasant life.
